About Stephen

Stephen is the firm principal and is responsible for the day to day running of the business.

His career in Financial Services started over 20 years ago, initially with a large Employee Benefits Consultancy before moving into regulated financial advice. Stephen is an experienced adviser providing relationship-based financial planning advice to both private and corporate clients.

He is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, the highest qualification that can be obtained through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).  Less than 10% of regulated financial advisers in the UK hold this qualification.   Stephen is also a Chartered Financial Planner through the CII.

Being a Chartered Financial Planner brings with it serious obligations.  Stephen is required to ensure that the advice, service and ongoing support he provides is of the highest quality and based on the client’s researched needs.  He must also adhere to the CII Code of Ethics and continuing professional development requirements.

He is also a Pension Transfer Specialist, which allows him to provide bespoke advice on complex areas of pension planning, such as final salary transfers.

In addition, Stephen is also a qualified Mortgage, Equity Release and Long Term Care adviser and satisfies the FCAs appropriate qualification requirements for those managing client investments.  He is also a full member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Furthermore, he also holds the Retirement Provision Diploma awarded by the Pensions Management Institute.

Stephen lives in Sale, Cheshire with his wife and four young children and enjoys a round of golf in his spare time.

Since 2003 David has been a self-employed adviser and for many years was a part-time lecturer at Blackburn College delivering a degree course in financial services.

He graduated with a degree in English from the University of Sheffield and also has a postgraduate certificate in Education. A former cricketer, David now enjoys a round of golf and watching football.

Alex offers a wealth of experience and knowledge to all clients.

His passion for quality advice and supporting people to meet their long term life goals started almost 13 years ago, when he started working for a leading UK bank as a Corporate Account Manager. Alex went on to provide advice on various aspects of financial planning including investment planning, protection, pensions and long-term care to a wide variety of corporate clients for the banking organisation.

Looking for a change he went onto specialise in financial planning for healthcare professionals and high net worth individuals and has a wealth of knowledge around their needs and solutions.

Alex’s strong work ethic has built a foundation for effective and lasting working relationships with clients and vendors alike.

Before joining Quays Wealth Management Alex was an adviser at a local IFA firm, as he believed that a client centric approach had been missed by larger banking organisations. He brings these core values to Quays offering an expert service of quality and excellence in order to give financial peace of mind to clients.

When not in the office Alex loves watching live sport or can be found enjoying a round of golf.
